5-foot-11, 148-pound thin body frame with lots of room to fill. Infielder stops feet before ground ball gets to him, needs to be more aggressive playing through the baseball. He uses a shorter arm action coming from a ¾ slot that produced a top velocity of 75 mph. Offensively, he starts tall with his weight towards the back leg and on his front toe. He uses a fluid hands back to shoulder trigger. He will add more power as his frame matures and adds more strength. He ran a 4.97 from home to first base. On the mound he uses a shorter arm action with average armspeed coming from an upper ¾ slot. He uses a straight up and down leg lift. His fastball was clocked at 72-75 mph. His curveball showed gradual 11/5 break at 66-68 mph. He also flashed a straight changeup at 68 mph using fastball armspeed.
2/17/14
Young skinny 5-foot-10, 145-pound body frame with lots of room to fill and added strength. Infielder has tendency to play from his heels. Will improve as he consistently plays through the ball. Threw at 65 mph arm strength. Offensively, he used a wide stance set up, no present hand trigger, needs to continue to gain strength. Ran a 7.64 60-yard dash. On the mound, he threw through a high 3/4 arm slot with short arm action. Fastball was straight at 73-76 mph. Breaking ball had some spin at 68-71 mph while changeup sat at 73 mph. Will improve as lower half is better incorporated into delivery.
