6-foot-3, 192-pound tall build with good pitchers body frame. On the mound the right-hander’s delivery requires regular effort. Five-pitch pitcher, has slight wrist wrap in arm action, throws using average armspeed through a ¾ slot. His fastball showed some natural tailing movement at 79-83 mph. His curveball broke at a downward plane at 71 mph. He threw a slider with good depth and break at 75 mph. His changeup was thrown at fastball armspeed with some tail and sinking action similar to his fastball at 74-75 mph. Also, flashed a knuckleball with downward tumbling action at 64 mph.
6/2/14
6-foot-3, 192-pound righty. Long, loose arm. Tends to sit on his lower half. Will be aided by creating more momentum towards the plate. Throws through high 3/4 arm slot. Regular effort to his delivery. Pitches well off an 83 mph fastball with arm side run. Tendency to get on the side of a slurvy type breaking ball which sat at 70 mph. Also mixes in a 73 mph changeup with similar run to his fastball.
9/22/13
6-foot-3, 178 pounds with a tall lanky frame. Projects better as a pitcher at the next level. Ran a 5.01 home to first time. In the field, he showed average hands and footwork. Featured a quick exchange, and showed good carry on deeper throws from third. Topped out at 81 mph across the infield. At the plate, he starts with an open stance, and uses a short stride. Showed good balance throughout swing. Good weight transfer through contact. Needs to keep hands inside the ball as bat tended to drag at times. Registered a top exit velocity of 80 mph. Good pitchers frame. Throws from a 3/4 slot with long loose arm action. Easy effort. Showed good command of his fastball sitting at 79-82 mph. Used 66-68 mph curveball with gradual sweeping action. Also threw a 74 mph changeup that showed slight fading action. Guy to keep an eye on as the school season approaches.
7/29/13
6-foot-3, 175-pound righty with thin frame and plenty of room to fill out. Uses big leg kick in his delivery. Throws through high ¾ arm slot with long, easy arm action. Delivery shows regular effort and has some deception. Fastball sat at 79-80 mph and showed some sink to it. His best off-speed pitch is a 74-75 mph changeup with good downward sink in the zone. Induced several bad swings with the pitch. Also showed a 66-67 mph breaking ball with some spin to it and a 63 mph knuckleball.
