6/6/17 A 2019, right-handed pitching prospect. A member of the 2016 Ohio Future Games team. His arm talent ranks amongst the top of his class. Works through a high-¾ slot and delivery requires consistent effort.. Arm is loose and fast. Ball jumps out of his hand with his fastball sitting 84-88 mph. Breaking ball is very sharp with impressive velocity and depth. The pitch works on a 10/4 plane at 75-78 mph. If he’s in the zone he’s light out but has issues with command at times.
8/4/16 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic frame. Was as high as 87 mph with his fastball, sitting in the 85-86 mph range. Throws a power curve at 76-78 mph that has very sharp action to it on an 11/5 plane. Changeup is playable and shows signs of being a weapon as he develops feel for the pitch.
6/7/16 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic frame. Strong right handed pitching prospect on the mound. Good direction to the plate, landing on line at foot strike and finishing square to the plate. Delivery requires some effort. Long, loose back arm action into a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 83-85 mph. Great breaking ball at 68-73 mph with sharp break on a 10/4 plane. Struck out seven of the ten hitters he faced. Earned a Future Games invitation with his performance.
1/24/16 5-foot-11, 170-pound strong, athletic frame. Sayre has the makings of a legit two-way prospect. On the mound the righty has electric stuff but will have to continue to develop and be in the zone more consistently. He has a slower tempo and lands slightly closed at foot strike. Landing closed may work to his advantage with his slinging arm action by giving his fastball late, heavy run and sink at 83-85 mph. Curveball was electric with good depth with a 11/5 shape at 69-71 mph. Changeup had signs of being a plus pitch but will continue to have to improve feel. At the plate he started in a balanced, athletic stance and uses a toe-turn load to initiate his lower half. Remains simple up top and lets his impressive bat speed go to work through the zone. Would like to see a little more rhythm to his load. Showed power potential to his pull side. Ran a 4.66 from home to first and his exit velocity was 82 mph. In the infield he showed athletic actions with confidence in his glove. Threw it across the diamond with 78 mph arm strength.
