Slight shift of weight to backside with minimal load of the hands. Stride gets back to even; stays on backside as he explodes and rolls through contact on front side. Exit velocity was 88 MPH, just a notch under his personal best of 89 MPH. Defensively- At 1B Mandel starts tall, using a prep hop to get into his ready position. Quick first step; stays lateral with movements; hands out in front with adequate transfer. Accurate arm with some life a 79 MPH.

Preseason All-Long Island (Feb. 20, 2015)

Mandel 5-foot-10, 198-pounds shows a strong lower half and an athletic built.   Defensively- Shows next level actions, gets around the ball.  Glove palm is up, hands are soft and smooth.  Arm-action is down and long and his arm slot is over the top.  Gets through his throws well which shows carry on the ball, and shows an arm velocity of 76 mph.Offensively- At the plate Tyler has an open stance and hand held high.  Loads back on the pitch with a short and balanced stride.  Bat path is short and quick to the ball and stays level through the hitting zone.  Hands stay inside the ball and keeps shoulders and hips closed.  Gets full extension through the ball and finished well over his shoulder with balance.  Shows great power as his exit velocity is 89 mph.  Home to first time 4.50.  College attributes shown early in this young man.

Offensively- At the plate his weight is shifted back on his right foot, hands relaxed over his back knee. On the pitch he uses a short stride for timing driving his hands powerfully, inside the ball with long extension, high finish with an 86 mph exit velocity.
