Preseason Long Island Preview (February 18, 2016)

Projects well at a 6-foot-2 180 pounds with a slender build. The outfielder and ran a 4.52 home-to-first.
Offensively- Starts in a well balanced stance and maintains a very quiet and efficient load.  Has a short path to the ball while hitting around a very still head with a good exit velocity of 84 MPH off the tee.  Has a ton of upside with very sound mechanics just needs to add strength to increase bat speed.  Also, manages to have plus extension through the hitting zone. Defensively- Needs to be more aggressive in approaching the baseball as long as he doesn't lose his fielding mechanics and can keep his body in control.  Bring his transfer in too close to his body rather than taking the ball out sooner, definitely has an upside with an above average 6-to-12 arm swing.

Preseason All-Long Island (February 20, 2015)
Manesis a 6-foot-2 175-pound outfielder/catcher shows a strong athletic lean build.  Defensively- In the outfield he plays the ball off his glove side, attacks the ball and finished through his target.  Arm-action down and long and over the top arm-slot.  Ball carries well as his arm velocity was between 71-74 mph.  Behind the plate Manesis steps towards his target and brings the ball directly to his ear.  Arm velocity of 70mph.  Shows soft and smooth hands behind the plate and shows to be an average blocker.  Pop time was a 2.19. Offensively- At the plate Nicky has an open stance with his hands above his ear.  Loads back with the pitch with a short and balanced stride.  Bat path is quick and short to the ball.  Bat stays level through the hitting zone.  Hands stay inside the ball as his shoulder and hips stay closed.  Gets full extension through the ball as he finishes over his shoulder with great balance.  Exit velocity 84mph. Home to first time 4.53.
