(WNY All-Star Games - Aug 27) Stands at 6-foot-0, 165 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.64 Home to 1st from the right-hand side.   He has a good approach through the ball, with good hands, throws with a short high 3/4 arm action, with some range, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 73 MPH.  On the mound, he uses a simple side step, balanced delivery, arm action is fairly clean and loose, throws with a high 3/4 arm slot.  During the game, he was able to use all his pitches to keep hitters off balanced.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced stance, short to no stride, with a back load.  His hands are compact and swings on a level plane through the baseball, with a shoulder high finish with extension through the ball.  His exit velocity was 79 MPH.

O'Connell stands 5-foot-10 160-pounds with a slender frame. He moves his feet towards his target after fielding the ball and throws 73 mph across the field. He wraps the bat some on his load, his exit velocity off the tee was 78 mph. He ran a 4.67 home to first time.
