ProCase (June 26, 2017)
Athletic 6-foot-0 170 2B/OF who ran a personal best 6.75 60 on natural grass. Offensively- Aggressive pre-pitch actions with bat waggle and up-down leg kick. Stays behind the ball with a swing path that features high intensity through the baseball. Peppers the left center and can repeat his unique actions. Exit velocity peaked at 88 MPH with the wood. Defensively- Worked out as an outfielder; controlled behind the ball approach with an additional shuffle hop step. Accurate, on-the-bag throws at 78 MPH.
PBR Futures Games (August 4-6, 2016)
Conahan has a solid athletic build at 6-feet 175-pounds. Plays the middle infield but can also play all three outfield positions. Ran a 6.97 60. Offensively- starts slightly opened in the box with hands above shoulder. Uses an aggressive Josh-Donaldson-like leg kick. Quick hands through the zone. Slight upper cut. Homered during game play to deep left field. Also had three extra base hits on the weekend. Recorded an exit velo of 86. Defensively- has above average hands in the infield and carry on balls at 86 mph. Athletic feet and clean exchange on ground balls.
Border Battle (October 18, 2015)
JonJon certainly lets the game come to him. One of our better athletes in the 2018 class, he certainly impressed scouts and teammates with his performance. Offensively- JonJon hits from a narrow stance with an aggressive leg kick. Plenty of fast twitch mechanisms within his load but seems to get the bat angle to a good position to launch from. Aggressive lower half and doesn't get cheated. Showed off some impressive bat speed during game play, crushing two long doubles to left center. Defensively- Active feet to and through the ball, works under the ball well and has left side arm. Tends to stand up some through release along with a front shuffle/step behind shuffle tandem. Handles shortstop well but may provide above average offense from 2B at the higher levels. 3B (arm strength) or OF (foot speed) potential is there too.
New Jersey Underclass Games (September 20, 2015)
Offensively- Conahan hits from a narrow, tall stance and utilizes a leg kick and a twitch of his wrists to put himself into a good launch position. He has very solid bat control as his bat is flat through the zone and finishes with extension for added leverage. He had an impressive batting practice, sending multiple balls to and over the fence. Defensively- He has proper footwork on his approach to ground balls. He has a quick arm and his throws have carry to them. His footwork into his throw is unique as he utilizes a step behind and perhaps one too many steps.
Eastern NY All-Star Game (September 13, 2015)
Stands at 6-foot-0, 180 pounds, with an athletic body build. Defensively - In the infield, he has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, rangy, and has accuracy on the target. Offensively - At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, high leg kick stride, with a back load. His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on an upward tilt plane with long/full extension through the ball, with an athletic balance throughout the whole swing. Exit velocity was 91 showing a strong, powerful swing, with potential to put up big power numbers in the future.
