New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Johnson sits in at 6-foot-1; 195 pounds with a strong athletic build. Has a college baseball body and runs very well showing a 6.80 – 60 time (improved from a 6.88 last NY Games). Offensively-Sets up square to the pitcher with slight bat and body movement. On pitch his trigger is a simple step forward with hands moving back. Very quick hands to the hitting zone with a good bat plane to his high finish. Creates a lot of power with his swing showing a 91 mph exit velocity (+8 MPH from July 2015). Defensively-Good approach and footwork getting to baseball. Quick with his feet, runs routes well and can track balls down the line/gap well. Throwing in from OF needs a better arm swing to get better accuracy but he can make up for it with his speed. 70 MPH arm strength; prior best is at 74 MPH.  Played well in OF during NYS Games making hard catches look easy in the gap and on the line.
New York Games (July 2015)
Solid, athletic look at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds. Defensively- Able to field cleanly with good hand and glove action, stays deep in the field but has a quick transition to get rid of the ball, uses a high-3/4 arm slot and fairly accurate with throws even though he recoils slightly after release (74 MPH). Offensively- At the plate setup is relaxed and balanced, has a smooth load and short stride to the pitch. Although hips open slightly early, he keeps his hands in the hitting zone for a long time to make consistent contact. Swing has some uphill tilt (83 Exit velo) and finishes at a high-athletic position. Jeremy ran a 6.88 60.
