Nodeland stands in at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds who stands operates off to the left side of the mound with his back towards first base. His delivery is fast-paced and keeps hitters honest with little comfort. His mechanics are above average, especially considering he was an outfielder not long ago with little mound time. Not only is his fastball sneaky quick, but it's also powerful with late life. He throws from an over-the-top slot, clean and fluid arm action. He really drives his leg up on his delivery but his stride stays short for his size. He needs to make his stride longer and push off the mound using his lower half more to maximize his velocity. He has a real live-arm which will help him at the next-level. I can see him as a starter at the HS level, but as he develops I see him becoming a strong reliever maybe even a closer type role. His fastball sits between 83-87 mph, but In Fort Myers this past summer he hit 89 mph at a perfect game showcase. He has a power type curveball that he throws for strikes at 69-74 mph, shows a plus two strike approach. His change up needs more development, and more confidence. As a starter his arsenal is loaded up to dominate this spring, with a big off-season look for him to impress.
