NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Solid 5-foot-11, 180 pound backstop. Offensively - effective load, short to the ball, keeps bat on level path through the zone, full extension with slight upper cut for an exit velocity of 90 MPH, repeatable motion, stays middle third of the field. Defensively - clean, quick footwork fundamentally sound, smooth transfer to throwing for velocity of 75 MPH (+4 since June 2016), accurate arm with a POP time of 2.0-2.07.
New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Thompson stands 5-foot-11, 180-pounds with a strong, lean build.He ran a 7.41 60 with a 7.34 on record (July 2015). Offensively- Setup is wide with his weight shifted back, slight stride on the pitch with a straight back load. Path is short, barrel has a slight incline through contact, pull-side power with an 91mph exit velocity (+2 MPH from Feb 2016). Defensively- He continues to look more comfortable the more we see him, receiving skills are clean, footwork needs to be quicker, transfer from glove is quick and clean. Pop times around 2.07 with some accuracy to the bag. Arm strength checked in a 71 MPH (previous best; 72 MPH).
Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)
Andrew stands 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with a strong athletic frame that will continue to fill out with time in the weight room.  He was a standout in the 2018 class.  Offensively- Thompson sets up with a wide base, minimal stride and creates good separation up top.  He works slightly up hill through contact but showed excellent pop with an 89 mph exit velocity. Defensively- Thompson shows great athletic ability behind the plate throwing right around the 2.1 range with pop times.  With a strong athletic body, and upside at the plate he's going to shine in the 2018 class and be one to follow through the next two years.
WNY All-Star Games (August 27, 2010)
Stands at 5-foot-10, 155 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.57 Home to 1st from the right-hand side.  Defensively- As a catcher, he throws with a clean loose action.  He receives the ball with smooth, soft, quick hands and has a clean transfer.  He blocks the ball nicely, keeps everything in front of him, and moves quickly to the ball.  His pop times were consistently at 2.10 down to second base.  His arm strength was at 72 MPHOffensively- At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with movement towards the ball through the swing, extension through the ball, and has a shoulder high finish.  His exit velocity was 83 MPH.

Southern Tier Open (August 5, 2015)
Stands at 5-foot-10, 155 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.34 60 yard dash.  Defensively- As a catcher, he throws with a clean loose action.  He receives the ball with smooth, soft hands and has a clean transfer.  He blocks the ball nicely and keeps everything in front of him.  His pop times were consistently at 2.07 down to second base.  His arm strength was at 71 MPH. Offensively- At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced, short stride, with a back load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with movement towards the ball through the swing, extension through the ball, and has a shoulder high finish.  His exit velocity was 82 MPH.
