Unsigned Sr. Showcase (Oct. 3, 2015) Vaules has a thicker, strong frame, standing 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. On the mound he uses a quicker leg lift, back and shorter arm action, shoulders tilt some before release, throws from a slightly over-the-top slot, fastball shows some present depth at 78 mph. Curveball at 67 shows 12/6 shape with late bite when he gets the ball out in front – some were very loose. Changeup at 71, which is probably a few mph too fast.


New York Games (July 7-9, 2015)

Strong, thick body type at 5-foot-11,185-pounds. Defensively- Clean glove work, recoils on throw with a low-3/4 arm slot, has good instincts but needs to work on lateral movement. Offensively- Balanced, relaxed hitting setup with a short stride to the ball prior to contact, short and quick extension with good bat speed through the hitting zone. Some potential as a hitter with contact approach. Pitching- Alec uses a balanced delivery, throws from a short-compact arm-action at a mid-3/4 slot. Fastball sat 77-80 mph topping 82. Fastball shows some late jump at times with arm-side fade. Curveball sat 67-69 with loose spin. Finishes over his front side, repeatable.
