Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11th, 2017)
Rodgers has a strong, athletic build at 6-feet 183-pounds. Ran a 7.44 60 yard dash. Offensively- starts in a tall, narrow stance with hands locked up and back. Uses a small leg lift and stride to start swing. Creates lift on finish with explosive lower half. Gap to gap type hitter. Exit Velocity topped at 90. Defensively- Recorded pop times between 1.94-2.01, threw 77 mph down to 2B, one of the top catcher velocities from the event. Quick, clean exchange and gains ground with footwork. Throws had backspin and were located on the bag. Interesting prospect to follow for the spring and summer.

Right -handed hitting catcher with a pop time of 2.02 and threw 70 mph from behind the dish. The footwork and transfer needs to continue to improve but the tools to catch, with physical strength, are there. Shows the ability to block and recover as well. The bat was very good in the game, he lashed a number of hits on the day, squaring up baseballs like it was his job. Ran a 5.0 on his dig to first base in the game. The tee exit velocity is 83 mph. Starts with an even base, high elbow setup. The bottom half has a pick up and put down of the front foot prior to contact, gaining minimal ground to the ball. The bat path is clean and he gets the barrel there, strength in his frame will help as well as there is currently effort in his swing.
