New Jersey Games (July 23, 2016)
Gibson is 5-foot-10 165-pounds and was one of the top athletes at the entire event. Ran the 60 in a 6.76, good for second at the event. Offensively, sets up in a tall, narrow stance. Uses a short foot stride for a load, but hands do not move. Hands are stiff, but still is able to clear hips with his swing. Exit Velo 84. Defensively - Throws were on line with plus carry and backspin for his age. Very good at tracking balls in the outfield.
Pitching - Explosive on the mound, Gibson throws from a 3/4 arm angle with a clean, lightning quick arm stroke.  Sat mostly 85-86 with fastball. Slider had sharp 11/5 break between 76-79. Can be developed into a true strikeout pitch for him. Was able to throw it for strikes.
NY State Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Gibson sits in at 5-foot-10; 165 pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.15 – 60 at NYS Games Showcase. Offensively- Starts slightly open with upright stance. Hands in front of back shoulder. On pitch his trigger is a slight toe tap in to step forward with his hands moving back slightly. Hands move quickly to the hitting zone staying inside with good barrel action through to a two handed high finish. Good rotation on bottom half. Good quick hands, with a recorded exit velocity of 92 mph. Could improve with more of a trigger from his hands. Pitching- Quiet delivery with a knee rise above his thigh and good arm action. Does a good job of separation and glove side pull. Uses whole body to generate torque through his core. With addition to strength training, velocity could increase. Overall command can waiver but the tools are there. Fastball was recorded at 83-87 mph and his Slider (Cutter) sat 72-78 mph.
