2017 New Jersey State Games (July 26-27, 2017)
Powers has a lean, athletic build at 6-foot-1 190-pounds. Recorded an exit velocity of 85 MPH. Offensively – starts in an opened stance with weight on back side and hands in line with back shoulder. Uses a foot stride and toe tap to start swing. Hands load down and back slightly. Balanced finish. Defensively – took reps at 1B. Throws topped at 75 MPH across the infield with some backspin on the bag. Smooth, quick glove exchange on double play feeds, able to throw from multiple slots. Pitching – on the mound, fastball topped at 74 MPH and sat mostly 71-74 throughout his outing. Flashed a 1/7 breaking ball with smaller break and a changeup with armside fade at 64-66 MPH. Tall, stiff balance point. Tall/fall type pitcher going down the mound. Level shoulders as he descends. Short arm action with an elbow climb with arm action from a high-3/4 slot. 

Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11th, 2017)
Powers has an athletic build at 6-foot-1 190-pounds. Ran a 7.60 60 yard dash. Offensively- starts in a wide stance with hands just above shoulder. As pitch comes in, Powers uses a stride to start swing. Hands load down and back. Arm bar in swing, level bat bath. Balance finish with hips clearing fluidly. Exit Velocity topped at 85 mph. Defensively- choppy footwork at 1B. Exchange is clean. Throws topped at 71 across the infield. Pitching- fastball topped at 73 mph, sat mostly 71-72. Curveball had cutter-like movement at 66-67. Elbow climb with his arm action, high-¾ slot.
