This was Malejko's 3rd PBR event; first on the mound The left-hander had an impressive bullpen session; showing command for three pitches in the bottom third of the strike zone. He pitches with simple, repeatable mechanics. He pitches from a slightly higher than 3/4 arm slot with a short, compact arm swing. His fastball was 78-82 miles-per-hour with arm side run. His breaking ball is a potentially plus pitch at 64-66 MPH. It had plus shape and spin, with late depth. His changeup mimicked his fastball at 79-81.
Unsigned Senior (September 19, 2015)
Malejko is the epitome of “ball player”. The 5-foot-10, 165 pound outfielder improved upon his 60-yard dash time, posting a 7.17. Malejko is the type to always out-play his testing speeds, however, and it is quite noticeable when you see him play the outfield or run the bases. The lefty glove is very instinctual and possesses a great first step. Malejko has a smooth, line drive swing plane and the feel for making hard contact. Having smoothened out his load a bit, he seems to have a better grasp for barrel control. He will be an excellent grab for a program looking to add quality outfield depth.
NJ Top Prospect Games (July 15, 2015)
Malejko is a 5-foot-10 outfielder with smooth athletic actions in the outfield. He did run just a 7.28, however he plays all aspects of the game much quicker. He has an excellent first step and tracks balls exceptionally well, especially when in center field. He showed some athleticism on his throws and had good back spin and carry. Offensively, he hits from the right-side. He uses an open stance and has a repeatable stride and a smooth load with some arm bar. He has a quick swing with an explosive lower half. He stays in the hitting zone with the barrel and consistently puts a good swing on the ball. He is a definite prospect.
