Preseason All State Showcase (February 10th, 2018)
Deanta has a broad shouldered, athletic build at 6-foot-1 195-pounds. Recorded an exit velocity that topped at 86 MPH. Hitting – Deanta starts in an opened stance and a slight crouch with hands above back shoulder. As pitch comes in, uses a small foot stride to re-center body to homeplate. Hands load up and back as bat barrel wraps slightly around head. Creates his power in his extension of hand and arms to the baseball. Uphill finish on follow through. Defensively – took reps at SS. Throws topped at 79 MPH across the infield. Smooth baseball actions in the infield with an effortless glove exchange and quick release. Able to throw from multiple arm slots with accuracy across the infield. Pitching – Fastball topped at 79 MPH and sat mostly 78-79. Mixed in a curveball with smaller 11/5 shape at 58-61 MPH. Flashed a changeup with heavy armside run and sink at 67-68. Tall, firm balance point with level shoulders as he goes down the mound. Longer arm action with some looseness. High-3/4 slot, firm, strong landing leg with extension on release.

Deanta has an athletic build at 6-foot-1 165-pounds. Ran a 7.85 60 yard dash. Exit velocity topped at 80 mph. Offensively- starts in a balanced stance with hands above back shoulder. Uses a leg lift and stride to start swing. Hand load is minimal. Drifts as he puts foot down in stride, slight pause/hitch before he starts swing. Creates lift on finish, finishes tall. Defensively- throws topped at 73 mph from SS. Short, quick arm slot. Slingshot type arm. Finishes tall on throws. Shows some softness in hands. Pitching- Fastball topped at 75 mph. Sat mostly 73-75. Curveball had small 11/5 shape at 58 mph. Tall fall type pitcher, high-3/4 slot. Arm locks out then hand comes straight to ear in a slingshot type motion. Uphill shoulders on first foot-strike. Finishes tall with some extension over front landing leg.
