Buddy Kennedy, 3B/RHP, Millville HS, Evoshield Canes, 2017

6/10/15 -- Buddy Kennedy comes from the same high school as New Jersey product and MLB superstar Mike Trout. Kennedy has a 6-foot, 190 pound frame and is very athletic at third base, showing good instincts and a strong arm. Kennedy was, in my opinion, the top in-game performer from a position player stand point. He showed great balance in the box and some power potential, scorching a line drive double to leftfield and a triple off the leftfield wall in back-to-back at bats. What is more impressive is his ability to run and his aggressiveness getting out of the box and around the bases. I had him at a 4.42 and 4.48 on the round in his two extra base hits. He is a very high level prospect who will attract the attention of power conference recruiters this summer.

3/15/16 - Kennedy is a big time prospect, and will be putting a pounding on pitchers all over the state in the spring.  Hailing from the alma mater of Mike Trout, there must be something in the water down in Millville because Kennedy looks like another future star.  With a solid base, Kennedy drives balls with authority to all fields.  His power bat is a plus-tool, and should play well in the ACC.  Much like Trout before him, Kennedy is a good athlete who also shows good instincts and a strong arm across the diamond.
