Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
8/4/16 Projectable right-handed hitting outfielder standing 6-foot-1, 180-pounds with plenty of room to fill out the frame. Played hard during the event. In the outfield, needs to work on live reads during batting practice as his first step needs to improve. Throwing is efficient as he threw 82 mph from the outfield during the defensive portion of the workout. Runs alright, 7.06 60 time on the laser reading. Offensively, showed potential at the plate, tee exit velocity of 92 mph. His at bats during the game could have used some more aggressiveness to it. Has the potential with the bat but the approach is hesitant, perhaps the first time in that environment was an issue. I like the frame and the projectability.
6/28/16 Love the body frame and projection of this right-handed hitting outfielder. Ran an athletic 4.29 on the dig to first base. Threw 77 mph from the outfield with a good approach to the ball and carry to his throws. Played a solid outfield in the game, as he gets off the ball well and showed good routes. At the plate, hits out of an even footed setup and shows free hands. Tee exit velocity of 82 mph, as the frame needs strength and fill out. This guy could be a monster, physically in 2 years. The path is a tad uphill as it needs to be flattened out through the zone so he can tap into his ability. Physical strength will help him maneuver the bat more efficiently.
12/13/15 Excellent looking right-handed hitting outfielder. The frame really projects and his body is loose and athletic. The outfield approach is proper and he threw 78 mph from the outfield from a long arm path. Ran a nice and easy 7.2 60-yard dash. The bat is simple and under control. Tee exit velocity of 85 mph. The set up is even with a slight squat and high back elbow. The hands are relaxed and take a very good path to the ball. He stays inside the ball at contact and the swing plane is correct. With body strength and maturation, look out. This guy has a huge upside and he is a very good athlete.
