At the plate, simple and repeatable stroke, balanced set up, short stride, slight pre pitch rhythm in hands, level path, consistent middle to pull side line drives during hitting evals.  On the infield, 70 mph positional velocity, three quarters arm slot, quick transfer and throw, clean exchange.

6/14/16 - Eklund is a 5-foot-8 135-pound left-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2019 class.  He ran a 7.76 60 and a 4.75 home-to-first.  He has a 73 mph exit velo. At the plate, simple and repeatable, balanced stance with short stride, swing produced consistent contact to the middle of the field.  At third base, 67 mph positional velo, three quarters arm slot, made all plays cleanly, accurate throws, fluid catch and throw. On the mound, Eklund has an over the top release, throws with easy effort, stays in line down the mound, controlled delivery, fastball at 64-66 mph, 11-to-5 shape breaking ball, 59-60 mph, allowed no hits during outing, three walks and a strike out.
