8/17/14 – Brewer is an athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed pitcher. Wade throws from an over-the-top arm slot with quick arm speed. He displays loose arm action and throws with easy effort. His shoulders are a bit uphill and lands square. Brewer finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 82-84 MPH. His curveball was at 69-72 MPH with 12/6 tilt and sharp/late break. Wade’s change-up ranged from 75-77 with near fastball arm speed and sink. He has a good feel for all of his pitches. In the game, Brewer tossed a solid inning.
2/17/14 – Brewer is a 5-foot-11 155-pound right handed pitcher.  Brewer showed good command of his fastball at 78-82 MPH with late cut.  He throws a 12/6 curveball at near fastball arm speed at 67-69 MPH.  Brewers change-up is 73-75 MPH with good sink.  He slow showed a slider at 67 MPH.  He has a high 3/4 arm slot and all of his pitches had good movement that will make batters swing and miss.  He has good balance and throws with regular effort.  Brewer’s mechanics will allow him to add velocity to fastball.
Brewer has a long and lanky 5-foot-11, 155-pound frame, showing ability and feel for three pitches. Coming from a ¾ arm slot with a quick, loose arm, Brewer threw a heavy fastball in the 79-83 mph range with arm side run and sink. He also threw a sharp 67-68 mph breaking ball with 11-to-5 shape and a change up (70-71 mph) with arm side run thrown at near fastball arm speed. Brewer seemed to have better rhythm and consistency out of the stretch. He has good arm strength for a player of his age and should see a spike in velocity over the next few years.
