2/16/15 - Stites is a left side infielder that attends Lee’s Summit North HS in Lee’s Summit, MO. 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame. Right-hand hitter, athletic set-up, slightly open stance. Light inline stride, smooth load, hands work well, maintains balance. Hard middle to pull side contact in batting practice round. Recorded an 88 mph exit velocity, ran a 4.40 home-to-first. Athletic footwork in the infield, clean exchanges, short high three-quarters motion, arm works, 84 mph throwing velocity across the diamond, all strong accurate throws with carry. Solid class of 2016 infield prospect that has improved in all areas in the last year.
6/18/14 - Stites is a strong 6-foot-1, 185-pound right-hand hitting infielder. In the infield he showed quick hands, made clean exchanges and accurate throws using short, quick high three-quarters arm action. His top throw was clocked at 80 mph. He hits from a slight crouch with an inline stance. He uses a minimal hand load and very short stride. Stites showed strong hands, some bat speed and a middle-oppo approach. He maintained balance throughout and has extension through the baseball. He ran a 4.97 home-to-1B from the right side – an area of his game that needs improvement. In the games Stites collected two hits in three at bats.
11/3/13 - Stites features a lanky, long-legged 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with plenty of room to fill out. He hits from tall, open stance and has a short stride. Right now he has average balance and bat speed. He has a solid approach overall and is a line drive, gap-to-gap type of hitter. His top exit velocity was timed at 80 mph. In the infield he has fluid footwork and soft hands. He throws with a loose motion from a ¾ slot – making several strong, accurate throws from shortstop. Despite being just a sophomore, he had to second best infield throwing velocity at 82 mph. His 60-yard dash time was 7.80.
