Comments
2/23/14 – Andersen is 5-foot-10, 175-pound SS/2B. Defensively, he has good footwork and a quick exchange with very accurate throws across the field. He throws from a ¾ arm slot and has a positional velo of 77 MPH. At the plate, Andersen has a smooth, simple load and a level bat path with good extension. He has a gap-to-gap approach with signs of power to his pull gap. He has an exit velo of 93 MPH, which was one of the best in the event. Andersen ran a 4.50 home-to-first.
2/18/13: In the infield, Andersen shows a good approach to the ball, with aggressive movements and a quick, clean exchange. He has short, quick arm action with accurate throws (top throw of 74-mph) across the field. At the plate, Andersen has a open stance with a level, long swing that showed some glimpses of power. He had the tendency to drift forward at times; when he stayed back he showed good bat control. He had a top exit velocity of 83-mph off the bat. As he continues to mature physically and take advantage of his strong lower half, he has the potential to be a power hitter.
