Huke

9/27/15 - Huke is a 6-foot-2 150-pound right-handed pitcher and right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2016 class.  Huke ran a 7.44 60 and was 4.62 home-to-first.  During hitting evaluations, Huke posted a 75 mph exit velo, balanced set-up, no wasted movement, slightly open to square stride, middle of the field approach.  In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, attacks ball with quick footwork, loose over-the-top release, crow hops, plays through catch, accurate throws.  On the mound, Huke was 78-80 mph with is fastball, late run, curveball has 12-to-6 shape at 62-66 mph, change-up down in zone at 68-70 mph, slight arm side sink, throws for a strike. Conventional delivery, loose arm action, throw with regular effort, and three quarters arm slot.

2/16/15 - Huke is a 6-foot-2, 145-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder that attends Carthage HS in Carthage, MO. Class of 2016. Right-hand hitter, balanced set-up, knee-to-knee then short stride, line drive approach, 74 mph exit velocity, ran a 4.48 home-to-first. In the outfield fielded the ball cleanly, high three-quarters to over-the-top throwing motion, 82 mph throwing velocity, some accuracy. On the mound works under control to a tall balance point. Tall and fall delivery with three-quarters arm slot. Consistent arm side run on fastball, 80-81 mph. Controllable 11/5 breaking ball, 66-67 mph. Command of change-up at 68-69 mph.

7/15/14 – Huke is an athletic 6-foot-1, 145-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with lightning quick arm speed and short arm action. Gavin throws with regular effort and stays in-line with the target. Huke had a fastball velocity range of 77-78 MPH with cut. His curveball was at 65-72 MPH with 11/5 tilt. Huke’s change-up ranged from 69-71 with near fastball arm speed and good sink.

7/15/14 – Huke is an athletic 6-foot-1, 145-pound right-hand hitting outfielder. He ran a 60 at 7.31 and home-to-first 4.79. Gavin throws from a high ¾ arm slot. His throws were very accurate and had good carry. His position velo was 81 MPH. At the plate, Huke has an athletic setup with a smooth load. He gets good bat extension and has fluid rhythm through the swing. He had an exit velo of 74 MPH.
