2/21/16 - Bean is a 5-foot-8 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class from Maryville HS.  He ran a 4.71 home to first and has an exit velo of 74 mph. At the plate, wide stance, closed stride, level path through through zone, mostly pull line drives during batting practice.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, over the top release with fluid footwork and exchange, fields ball in athletic position with momentum through the catch.

8/6/15- 5-foot-8, 160-pound right-handed hitting infielder. 7.03 runner. Crouched stance. Knee to knee trigger. Solid contact and uses whole field. 2-hole hitter with ability to move ball around field. 74 mph exit velocity. Short arm action in outfield. Throws are online with above average accuracy. 76 mph arm strength. Shows avg. actions in infield. Above avg. range. Accurate arm with carry to bag. 76 mph across infield.

10/18/14 - Bean is a strong 5-foot-7 150-pound right-handed hitting 2B/MIF and on a upward trend from his last event.  On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, high ¾ release, clean exchange, fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws.  At the plate, 72 mph exit velo, 4.44 home-to-first, wide base in stance, quick bat speed, level path, produced line drive to middle of field in BP.  Bean has showed increases in the field and at the plate and is a player to continue to follow in the 2017 class.

7/15/14 – Bean is an athletic 5-foot-7, 150-pound right-hand hitting middle infielder. He ran a 60 at 7.45 and home-to-first 4.91. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Alex’s throws were mostly accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 65 MPH. At the plate, Bean has an athletic setup and a smooth load. He gets good extension on his swing and has a good approach. Alex’s swing produces gap-to-gap line drives. He had an exit velo of 74 MPH.
