8/23/15- 6-foot-3, 215-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.41 runner. Consistently drove balls into right-center gap. Easy load and stays connected well. Short to contact. 98 mph exit velocity off tee. Soft hands and fields out front. Solid actions at first base. Has improved footwork around bag. Accurate throws at 81 mph across infield. Arm action has improved on mound. Fastball is downhill with varying cut and run at 78-80 mph. 11/5 curveball with solid rotation and avg. break. Inconsistent release point and command of changeup at 72-73 mph.

6/16/15- 6-foot-3, 215-pound 2-way player. 7.43 runner. Middle-away approach at plate. Stays inside baseball and shows flashes of pop to oppo gap. Short through the zone after contact. 84 mph exit velocity. Usable glove and feet at first base. Throws are accurate and have carry. Solid actions around bag receiving throws. Simple up-tempo delivery on mound. 2-piece arm action from OT slot. Lands open and falls to first base side in delivery. Some effort in delivery. Fastball was 79-80 mph; topping out at 82 mph. Breaking ball was 68-70 mph and changeup was 72-73 mph.

2/28/15- MN Preseason All-State
6-foot-3, 215-pound 2-way player who ran a 7.6 60. Friedrichs improved in every stat category since his last performance in October 2014. Shows ability to drive baseball with short swing to contact. Mid-pull approach and drove two balls to oppo gap. Consistent hard contact to gaps. Finish is short at times keeping both hands on bat. Would benefit by releasing top hand after contact and creating greater extension. 84 mph exit velocity off tee. Active with good energy at first base. Attacked ground balls and showed soft hands. Accurate arm and able to start double play. Received balls well at first base. 82 mph across infield. Velocity continues to move forward on mound. Fastball was thrown for strikes at 78-81 mph. Curveball looked sharper with 12/6 shape. Showed ability to start changeup in zone and take away from hitter with downhill plane at 72-74 mph.

October 2014
6-foot-3, 210-pound 2-way player. 7.88 60 time. Extra-large durable frame. Left-handed hitter with medium width base for size. Starts open with easy load. Uses leg kick trigger to swing. Short to contact with good extension through baseball. Line drive swing plane and uses both sides of the field. 79 mph exit velocity. Defensively shows average actions at first base. Limited to position based on foot speed. Makes routine plays and moves well around bag receiving throws. On the mound uses simple delivery. Good balance point and creates inline direction to plate. Two piece arm action from over-the-top slot. Fastball is downhill with late heavy action at 78-79 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape with late hard break for strikes. Shows flashes of above average changeup with fade to bottom of strike zone. Head jerk effects command at times; tends to leave pitches up and to arm-side of plate.
