6/20/16- 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitting utility player. 7.34 runner with 95 mph exit velocity. Good timing in box, clean swing, consistent hard contact, uses whole field. Versatile defender that can play in field. Solid actions with appropriate footwork. Average carry with accuracy to bag at 80 mph. Athletic actions behind plate, quick release, solid carry and accuracy to bag, 2.07-2.12 pop times with 74 mph arm strength. Athletic delivery, repeats well, and solid command of zone. Fastball was 76-79 mph with clean arm action. Early break on curveball with ability to land in zone. Slows arm on changeup but shows feel for zone.
3/20/16- 6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitting player with versatility. #48 ranked player in MN 2017 class. 7.5 runner. Square stance, deeper load, double tap trigger, hitterish, bat stays through zone, line-drive swing plane with ability to drive baseball to opposite field. 85 mph exit velocity. Good footwork in field, soft hands, fields deep occasionally, solid range, accurate arm and follows throws to target, 79 mph arm strength. High set-up, clean exchanges, quick clean arm action, solid carry on throws, needs better direction through plate. 72 mph arm strength with 2.03 pop time- accurate to bag. Simple rocker step, sound balance, with good direction plate. Clean arm action producing fastballs at 75-78 mph. 10/4 shape on breaking ball with tight rotation. Late run on changeup for strikes at 70-71 mph.
MN UNDERCLASS PROSPECT GAMES: 7/1/15
6-foot, 170-pound left-handed hitting catcher/utility player. Quiet actions at plate. Length in load. Good bat path to ball. Works gaps well in approach. Solid contact with average power. 83 mph exit velocity off tee. Soft hands and receives well behind plate. Average blocker. 70 mph arm strength with 2.19 pop times. Solid/average actions at third base. Ability to make routine plays. Accurate arm with good carry to bag. 77 mph arm strength across. Solid athlete on mound. Fastball has cutting action at 71-74 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape with varying rotation speed thrown in bottom of zone. Changeup has wobbly action for strikes.

February 2015
6-foot, 167-pound utility player. 7.53 60 time. Improved in every statistical category since last event in October 2014. Slightly closed stance. Has shortened load and is quicker to contact. Line drive swing plane and shows ability to keep bat in zone. Mid-pull approach. Offensively will continue to improve as he adds strength. Shows soft hands in field. Able to make routine plays. Slows game down and handles in-between hops. Throws from over-the-top slot with accuracy at 74 mph across. Has athleticism behind plate. Better energy and rhythm. Release is much cleaner than before. Shows accuracy to bag with 2.10-2.15 pop times and 68 mph arm strength. Short quick arm action on mound. Good balance point. Front leg swings open in stride. Has feel for zone with 3 pitches. Fastball has average life at 71-74 mph. Breaking ball had gradual break with 12/6 shape. Changeup had flat run at 66-68 mph.
 

October 2014
5-foot-11, 150-pound catcher. Degnan is long and lean left-handed hitting catcher. Ran a 7.53 60. Shows rhythm in load with a front heel turn trigger. Stays inline and square with pitcher. Gap to gap approach. Load can be long at times but is able to get barrel to baseball with solid contact. Exit velocity of 74 mph. Has flexibility behind the plate with ability to receive. Able to keep balls in zone. Shows aptitude for blocking. Needs minor mechanical adjustments. Feet and hands work well together. Release is long effecting pop times.  Has present ability and a chance to improve with physical development. Arm strength of 68 mph with pop times of 2.25-2.38.
