6-foot-4, 200 pound strong bodied prospect. Long arm action with some effort. Fastball sat 85-86 mph, with a sharp curveball at 67-71 mph, and change-up with plus movement at 74-75. Strong prospect to follow with velocity in the upper 80’s at times.
6-foot-3, 200 pounds with a long, lanky frame. Offers tools both as an outfielder, and on the mound. Ran a 7.05 60 yard dash time. Best tool is his right handed arm. Topped out at 86 at this event, but has been up to 91 mph in the past. Plays through the ball. At the plate, the right handed hitter uses a balanced base with short stride. Creates impressive bat speed and reached a top exit velocity of 88 mph. Showed linedrive ability in the cage, but definitely has some gap power potential. On the mound, he throws through a high 3/4 slot with long arm action. Plus arm speed. Easy effort delivery. Uses a fastball/slider combo. Features a hard 81-84 mph 2-seam fastball with significant arm-side run. His 70-71 mph slider offers plus late sweeping action.
9/29/13
Big strong 6-foot-3, 190-pound outfielder. Good athlete who is a sub 7.0 runner. Arm is above average at 86 mph from the outfield. Wide shoulders and good frame mean that he has more to grow and mature. Occasional pop at the plate. Has a tendency to bar out front arm a correctable issue.
6/25/13 Wittkopp continues to improve. Improved his 60 time to 7.07. Threw 85mph from the outfield. Bigger frame with room to grow. 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. Long arm action with good life and backspin carry. Accurate arm. Hit better at the plate as well. Crouches a touch at the plate. Level bat path. Will see more pop as he gets better extension and uses his levers to his advantage.
2/9/13 Wittkopp was a nice surprise. His arm registered 84mph from the outfield a testament to his strength. He ran a 7.27 60. His body type is lanky and athletic. His bat is a step behind at this point. He needs to work on his balance and load. It all felt a little rushed.
Wittkopp's arm should translate well to the mound. He sat 77-79 mph with his fastball and showed a 69 mph 12-6 breaking ball. His arm is loose and works from a high over the top action.
