6/18/13 Smaller compact player with good actions.  Instincts are good.  Only 5-foot-9, 150-pounds but plays bigger than frame suggests. Good arm from the outfield with carry (82mph).  Contact hitter at the plate.  Bat path is flat through the zone.  Has some gap pop when he gets it right.

2/23/13 Houts continues to show improvement in all areas of his game.  Shows solid arm strength from the OF (83mph).  Throws were accurate and online. Hands are soft and demonstrates fluid footwork.  Occasionally a bit hesitant in the OF and used two hand play through.  Improved his 60 to 7.09.  At the plate shows balance and smooth load.  Starts from upright position and has high one hand finish.  Physically he is athletic and is gaining strength.

9/16/12 Kyle Houts is a good looking athlete.  He is on the smaller side right now but has two years to continue to grow.  He ran a 7.16 60-yard dash and displayed solid arm strength from both the outfield and at short.  He made consistent accurate throws.  At the plate, Houts has an athletic stance and approach with a smooth easy swing.
