Super 60
Jacob Vander Wal is the 17th ranked prospect in Michigan's 2015 class and is committed to Ohio State. Vander Wal showed his athletic ability and gains in strength from his offseason. He ran a 6.86 60-yard dash. Showcased quick twitch athletic actions from the outfield with clean footwork and glove. Threw 87 mph from the outfield. Open to even stance from the left side of the plate, good rhythm in a middle to opposite field approach. Vander Wal strength gains will prove valuable as he enters his senior year.
6/18/13 VanderWal is still young with room to grow. Stands at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Time on his side. Gets most out of tools with strong hands and wrists with quickness to zone. Online carry and easy arm in outfield w/actions and decent feet on infield. After not playing during the spring, VanderWal is just getting his timing back together at the plate.
