6.21.16 - Western Michigan recruit. 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame, wiry-athletic build with plenty of room for continued physical development. Quick athletic arm, 3/4 slot, drop-and-drive delivery. Fastball ranged between 86-88 mph, touching 89, flat with slight arm-side life. Breaking ball had erratic shape, flashed sharpness with two-plane break between 71-73 mph; throws pitch confidently. Shows potential to be go-to pitch when thrown more consistently. Also threw 79-mph changeup. At past PBR event, he ran a 6.92 60, and athleticism evident on the mound.
7/30/15
6-foot-3, 165-pound lanky, two way player. Features 3 pitches with plus movement. Delivered from a 3/4 arm angle with little effort. Pounds the strike zone with a 83-86 mph fastball, 69-71 mph 11/5 curve with depth, and 75-76 sinking splitter. Hits with a balanced approached while getting his hips through to drive liners. Registered a 93 mph exit velocity. In the outfield has an aggressive approach and throwing 86 mph. Ran a 6.92 60 yard dash.
6/23/15
6-foot-3, 165-pound athletic prospect. Athletic and explosive at the plate while using a line drive approach to all fields. Bat exit speed recorded was 93 mph. Aggressive in the outfield with good instincts and footwork. Works through the ball nicely will registering a 85 mph arm velocity. On the mound, athletic framed kid. Has a tremendous feel for 3 plus pitches. Fastball sat 85-86 mp with arm side run. Curveball had tight, 11/5 type angle with good depth. Was able to throw it in any count and work the corners. Changeup is go to off-speed pitch. At 73 mph, it has tremendous run away from left-handed hitters.
1/24/15
6-foot-3, 165-pound prospect. Big time projection in a quick ¾ arm action. Shows loose athletic arm with clean mechanics. Fastball has plus life at 83-87 mph. Slider with hard late break at 69-71 mph. Changeup has good arm side sink at 75-78 mph. Split finger with good downward action at 73-75 mph.
6-foot-1, 155 pound strong bodied prospect. ¾ athletic quick arm slot with downhill action on pitches. Kept fastball down with arm side run at 83-84 mph, 12/6 curveball with good depth at 65-67 mph. Good glove work in the outfield with a strong accurate arm at 81 mph. Ran a 4.65 home to 1st. Toe tap stride at the plate with strength in a gap to gap approach. Bat speed registered at 85 mph.
6/17/14
6-foot-2, 160 pound athletic prospect. Showed good arm speed, throws hard across body which hinders his control. Fastball was 81-84 mph. Located a slurve well at 63 mph. Change-up was 73 mph. Showed good hands and actions in the infield. Accuracy lacked on throws across the infield. Ran a 4.53 home to 1st. Showed a line drive approach at the plate with good extension through the baseball. Bat speed registered at 87 mph.
2/15/14
6-foot-1, 155 pounds with an athletic frame. Two way prospect. Young 2017 right handed pitcher that uses long/loose arm action through a 3/4 slot. Quick arm speed. His fastball consistently sat between 80-82 mph but jumped up to 84 on a couple occasions. Fastball features plenty of natural arm-side run. Showed the ability to throw a splitter with some sink that sat between 74-75 mph. Also offers 66-67 mph slider and a 69-72 mph changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed. In the infield, he features some softness in hands. Will improve by attacking, and playing through the ball. Showed the ability to use multiple arm angles in the field while topping out at 78 mph. At the plate, the right handed hitter uses a tall setup with toe tap stride. Uses a slightly uphill bat path, and consistently barreled the ball while having a nice round of BP. Line-drive production. Reached a top exit velocity of 88 mph off the tee. Registered a 7.09 60 yard dash time.
