6.21.17 - A projectable 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame. Covey has a controlled delivery throwing from a high three quarter slot. Gets high leg kick into hip load while working downhill. Sound, athletic arm action creating fast arm speed while pitching with light effort. Does show lower half involvement through his release. Repeats his delivery well and more in the tank as he adds strength. Fastball up to 88 on the day pitching 85-87. Breaking ball has 11/5 almost 12/6 action with late, sharp action at 75 mph. Change up has fade to the pitch at 79 mph. High ceiling pitcher with more in the tank and an exciting prospect to follow.
