Right-handed hitting catcher, whom I have watched improve immensely in the past 18 months. The swing plane and strength at the plate have really jumped up. Tee exit velocity of 85 mph as the bat is flat and long to contact. He sets up with a wide base allowing control of his feet. The hands are quick and strong to the ball, finished even with a 1 hand finish. Behind the dish, he is solid, the receiving is soft and his ability to secure the catch has improved. Pop time of 2.01 and his throws are accurate. Does have a small pause in his throwing at the back of his arm path, mirror work could help clean that up. Threw 73 mph from back there and showed good foot speed for a catcher, running 4.27 on his dig to first.
10/18/15
Right-handed hitting catcher who has progressively gotten better in the last year. Shows the ability to receive the ball and handle the throwing from back behind the dish. Blocks properly and put that on display during the event on Sunday. At the plate, shows a flat swing with the ability to control the bottom half of his swing. Hit a couple balls on the nose during the event that were right at people. Needs some strength and continue to develop but is certainly headed in the right direction. Pop time of 1.97 in pre-game
9/27/15
Having seen Cam play a number of times, I must say, he has improved immensely. Behind the dish, he threw 72 mph with carry and accuracy. The transfer and footwork is on time and proper. Pop time of 1.99. The receiving has gotten softer and he continues to work on securing the catch and his framing. The bat has life to it and the path covers the plate as he swings. Hands are quick and efficient, tee exit velocity of 87. The setup has minimal movement and the bottom half is under control throughout the swing. Showed well both on the defensive side of the ball and at the plate.
3/8/15
5-foot-8, 160-pound solid build. From behind the plate he starts in a high crouch. Shows a quick transfer but needs to improve footwork to get his feet under him and on line. From a short high-¾ slot his pop times ranged from 2.12-2.18 and show 71 mph velocity down to second.
11/16/14
5-foot-8, 155-pound young and very well skilled right-handed hitting catcher. Short arm path and good feet behind the dish. Pop time of 2.10 with room for improvement. Throwing 69 mph from behind home while being very accurate. Ran well for a catcher at 7.28 in the 60-yard dash. Nice and loose receiving skills during bullpens, showing the ability to block as well. The bat needs some strength to it as he drops his hands and is a bit long to the ball. The setup is even and simple.
