8/25/13 - Hurley was unable to attend the position player showcase, but the 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect was impressive in game play.  On the mound, he uses long arm action through a ¾ to high ¾ arm slot, fastball sat 85-87 mph and touched 88 with some arm-side run, showed good command of his 70-72 mph curveball with sharp 11/5 action and a very good changeup at 77 mph with arm-side action and sink.  At the plate, Hurley smoked two extra base hits, a double and a triple.  He is one of the premier two-way prospects in Kentucky’s 2015 class.

6/11/13 - 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect with athletic build, shows athletic outfield actions, moves well, plays through the ball, strong, accurate arm at 85 mph.  At the plate, balances setup, smooth load, good balance, uses lower half torque to generate bat speed through the zone, showed the ability to go the other way with a single to right and triple to right-center in game play, ran 6.72 60 yard dash.  On the mound, Hurley is one of the top arms in the 2015 class, uses long arm action through a ¾ to high ¾ arm slot, loose arm, fastball sat 85-87 mph touching 88 with some arm side run, curveball shows sharp 11/5 action at 69-74 mph, struggled some with command early in outing but settled in, one of the top prospects in 2015 class with two-way ability.

2/18/13 - Simply put, Hurley is without question one of the top few class of 2015 pitchers in the state.  He has long and loose arm action through a high ¾ arm slot that produced an 83-86 mph fastball with good life and arm side run.  He showed good feel for his curveball that is sharp and shows late 11/5 action at 69-71 mph.  Hurley flashed what may have been the best changeup of the day with good arm action at 77-78 mph with significant sink and fade.  As an outfielder, shows athletic actions, very good arm strength at 88 mph from the outfield.  At the plate, uses an open stance, squares frontside, bars arm in load which causes him to extend arms behind the plate at times, uses  lower half to generate some torque, transferred weight during the swing and did get inside some of the pitches to get to extension, runs well with a 6.82 60 yard dash, generated 89 mph tee exit velocity.
