He uses short arm action through a high ¾ arm slot to produce a straight fastball that sat 61-64 mph and a 52-54 mph curveball that shows gradual 1/7 action. Sams should see his velocity improve with better lower half direction and a concentration on keeping his front side closed longer. As a position player, showcased his speed running a 6.81 60-yard dash and registered 70 mph exit velocity off the tee, hits from a balanced setup with a short stride, long and level swing path, hands show some quickness, line drive type hitter. Defensively, showed developing arm strength from the outfield at 66 mph, went 0-for-4 in game play with two strikeouts.
