6-foot-1, 195-pound RHH hits from a balanced stance, short stride, strong lower half, gets the barrel through the zone with consistent hard contact, hit the ball hard in game play with a double and line out to second base, average runner. Showed a solid transfer and release behind the plate, footwork stays online allowing him to make accurate throws to the bag, good arm strength, blocks well. Hood is a solid catching prospect in the 2017 class.

As a pitcher, uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot with normal effort in delivery, arm is quick, uses effective late arm-side life to run fastball in on right-handed hitters, showed occasional feel for curveball with 11/5 action, worked through some command issues, allowed just one infield single, walked three, and struck out two (both swinging on FB) in his two innings of work. Quick arm could lead to more velocity.
