2/14/15 - 6-foot, 160-pound RHP uses long arm action through a ¾ arm slot, easy effort in delivery, arm slot produces natural arm-side run on fastball, fastball showed an increase in velocity from last summer as fastball sat 76-78 mph touching 79, struggled to command curveball on this occasion as he tended to het under it leaving it up, curveball was 60-64 mph, changeup was his best secondary pitch of the bullpen session showing good arm-side fade and sink at 66-69 mph, projects for additional velocity as he continues to fill out frame As a position player, right-handed hitter hits from a wide and slightly open stance, short stride, short swing path, loose hands, line drive type hitter likes to work the middle of the field, showed improved speed from previous event with a 7.30 60-yard dash, 81 mph exit velocity (86 previous event). Defensively, shows average hands and actions, 72 mph arm strength across the infield (76 at previous event).
7/23/14 - 6-foot, 160-pound prospect ran 7.43 60-yard dash and showed his bat speed with 86 mph tee exit velocity. Hits from an open stance with a short stride, line drive type hitter, impressed in batting practice with hard line drive contact to all fields, went 0-for-3 in game play. Defensively, shows adequate hands and an accurate arm across the diamond, reached a top velocity of 76 mph, should continue to develop game and is a 2017 player to watch.
On the mound, works through a ¾ arm slot, shows the ability to consistently throw strikes, didn’t allow a base runner in two innings of work, fastball sat 75-77 mph with occasional arm-side run, showed a 61-63 mph curveball with 11/5 action that should continue to develop.
