8/8/15 - 6-foot-4, 187-pound RHP has not shown the velocity this summer that he showed in February, works through a high-3/4 slot with long arm action, good tempo in delivery, fastball sat 82-84 mph with some arm-side run, showed limited feel for 70-73 mph curveball, allowed one hit and struck out the side in his first inning of work (all on FB’s), struck out two more on fastballs while allowing two hits and walking one in the second inning. Floyd has as much upside as any uncommitted 2016 arm in KY but has shown inconsistent velocity and feel for secondary stuff at times.

6/16/15 - 6-foot-4, 183-pounds, ideal pitcher’s frame that projects well, have seen better velocity from Floyd than he showed at this event, long/loose arm action, high-3/4 slot, minimal effort delivery, fastball sat 81-84 mph (have seen up to 88), good arm-side run on fastball, arm tended to drag on the curveball leaving at up at 71-73 mph, 74 mph changeup is a solid pitch with good sink and fade, struggled with command in his outing walking three and hitting two batters, allowed one infield hit and struck out one in his two innings of work, big upside for this 2016 right-hander who didn’t have his best stuff on this day.
2/14/15 6-foot-4, 175-pound RHP with ideal pitcher’s frame that projects well, showed expected significant increase in velocity, uses long arm action and works through a high-3/4 slot, clean arm action, quick arm, minimal effort in delivery, fastball sat 84-87 mph touching 88 with good downward tilt, shows some feel for 66-70 mph curveball with 11/5 action, 71-73 mph changeup shows some sink and fade. Floyd has made the expected jump in velocity with more possibly to come, good upside for the projectable right-hander.
10/19/14 - 6-foot-4, 175-pound prospect with lanky frame that projects well, uses long arm action through a high ¾ slot, easy effort in delivery, stays online with lower half, good tempo in delivery, fastball sat 81-83 mph with some arm-side run and sink, works fastball at the bottom of the zone well, showed a 68-71 mph curveball with 11/5 action, gets under curveball at times leaving it up but is a solid pitch when he stays on top, allowed no hits but did struggle some with command in second inning of work, walked three and struck out two in his two innings of work, was a stretch only guy during the summer but is pitching from the windup now, has potential to see significant velocity gains.
7/15/14 - 6-foot-4, 170-pound prospect with frame that really projects, uses long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, works from the stretch only, delivery is easy and repeatable, fastball is straight and sat 81-83 mph, curveball shows potential to be a good pitch when he stays on top at 65-66 mph, 68-71 mph changeup is thrown with good arm action, definite class of 2016 prospect to follow, would expect jump in velocity in the near future.
