5-foot-10, 190-pound RHH is one of the top uncommitted catchers in the 2017 class. Has a strong frame with strength in hands and forearms. Hits from a balanced stance, short stride, aggressive swing while maintaining good balance, looks to drive the baseball, shows gap to gap power, went 1-for-3 in game play with a single to CF and two OF fly outs. Athletic behind the plate with very good arm strength and a quick release, solid receiver with good blocking ability, produced the top pop time of the event with strong and accurate throws to the bag. Good combination of offensive and defensive ability.

2/13/16 - 60 Time: 7.00, Pop Time: 2.00-2.03, Position Velocity:  C-77, Exit Velocity: 92
5-foot-10, 190-pound RHH with good physical strength, hits from a balanced stance, short stride, aggressive hitter who looks to attack the ball, generates good bat speed, ball jumps off the barrel, has potential to hit for power at the next level, good athleticism and runs well for the catcher position. Defensively, has quick and active feet that stay online, good arm strength with a solid transfer and release, mostly accurate throws. Combs remains one of the top uncommitted catchers in the 2017 class.

6/16/15 - 5-foot-9, 185-pound right-handed hitter hits from a balanced stance, short stride, good use of strong lower half generates bat speed, flashes power to the pull side, 83 mph exit velocity, ran 4.76 down the line, went 1-for-3 in game play with an infield single. Solid defensive catcher, receives ball well, quick transfer and release, good footwork, 76 mph velocity with pop times that ranged from 1.93-2.00, most throws accurate to the bag, very solid 2017 prospect.

1/19/14 - 5-foot-7, 170-pound, young prospect, good setup behind the plate, footwork is solid, fairly quick transfer, long release, shows good arm strength for young prospect at 74 mph from the crouch, pop times ranged from 2.25-2.31 and will improve with quicker release.  At the plate, hits from a balanced setup with a short stride, uses his lower half well to generate good bat speed through the zone, consistently barreled up the baseball in his round and showed some power potential, ran 4.57 down the first base line, 81 mph tee exit velocity, definite prospect to follow in the 2017 class.

10-4-2018: Verbal commitment to Indiana U.

Strong showing behind the dish throwing a 1.92 to go along with his 1.88 and 1.96 in game pop in Indianapolis. Used a short compact swing to go gap to gap with the bat. Verbal commitment to Indiana U.
