2/16/14 - O'Neil is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect with athletic build. Defensively, he shows soft hands and quick feet but needs to develop more consistency throwing the baseball, top velocity was 76 mph across the infield. O'Neil's speed and ability to hit are the best part of his game right now. He hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and very good balance throughout his swing. He continues to impress as a hitter with fluid rhythm and a line drive approach with occasional gap-to-gap power. O'Neil consistently squares up the baseball with the ability to make hard contact to all fields, ran 6.85 60 yard dash, 85 mph tee exit velocity (up to 90 mph at previous event).
9/7/13 - The 5-foot-11, 175-pound O’Neil showed the best exit velocity we have seen from him at 90 mph. He ripped a 3-run double to deep left-center in game play. He registered throws of 71 mph from the infield and 78 mph from the outfield.
6/11/13 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect, shows fluid footwork, plays through the ball well, moves well laterally with good body control, accurate arm at 75 mph across the infield, 78 mph arm strength from the outfield. Hits from a balanced/athletic setup, smooth load, short path to the ball, good use of lower half to generate bat speed through the zone, consistently finds the barrel, good round of BP, good balance, solid swing mechanics, runs well with a 6.78 60 yard dash.
2/18/13 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound, athletic prospect, soft hands, fluid feet, moves well laterally, good body control, accurate arm at 74 mph across the field,needs to continue to improve arm strength. At the plate, balanced setup, short stride, gets front foot down early, good use of lower half in swing, fluid rhythm, line drive swing plane. We have seen O’Neil at multiple events and each time he impresses with his approach and ability to square the ball up. Potential high-level 2015 prospect, ran 6.98 60 yard dash, 84 mph tee exit velocity.
1-21-13 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect, athletic build, feet work, good lateral movement, plays through the ball, soft hands, accurate arm at 73 mph. At the plate, hits from a tall/balanced setup, good balance, uses lower half well to generate bat speed, shows the ability to consistently square the baseball and hit line drives to all fields, good young hitting prospect, ran 5.04 40 yard dash, registered tee exit velocity of 86 mph. O’Neil has the potential to be a high-level prospect in the class of 2015.
12-30-12 - O’Neil is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound 3B with an athletic build. He shows fluid footwork and lateral movement in the infield with soft hands. He has a quick exchange and short to medium arm action that registered throws of 73 mph across the infield. At the plate, O’Neil hits from a balanced setup with a shoulder level hand trigger. He shows good balance and uses his lower half well to generate good bat speed through the zone. O’Neil took one of the most impressive rounds of batting practice of the day, barreling up everything and spraying line drives all over the cage. He registered an exit velocity of 78 mph and a home to first time of 4.35.
