6-foot-4, 212-pound LHH with ideal first baseman frame, hits from a balanced setup with a short stride, uses strength in swing and has good power, uphill path at times creates some lift at contact, took a good round of BP with loud contact, shows strength generated bat speed. Soft hands and some agility at first base in moving around the bag, good arm strength with accurate throws. Ryle has significant left-handed power potential and is one to keep an eye on.
9/18/16 - Max FB: 79, FB: 76-79, CB: 66
6-foot-4, 212-pound LHP with physical frame, uses short arm action and works through a high-3/4 slot with normal effort, stuck mainly with the fastball in his one inning of work that showed occasional arm-side run, threw one curveball with short 1/7 break. After allowing a leadoff walk, Ryle retired the next three hitters on two fly outs and a ground out.
6-foot-4, 205-pound LHH showed improved OF velocity at this event, he hits from a wide base and uses a leg lift to load up on backside, engages lower half and produces some natural lift in swing, works the gaps and shows flashes of pull side power, ball jumps off the barrel when squared up. Shows the defensive ability to play first base or a corner outfield spot but projects best at 1B, fields the ball cleanly and shows slightly above average arm strength, has some athleticism around the first base bag. Ryle has potential to be a left-handed power bat.
