8/17/14 - 6-foot-2, 173-pound RHP, lanky frame with projection, arm is loose and works easily through a high ¾ slot, fastball sat 84-86 mph with late arm-side run and sink, very good command of sharp curveball with 11/5 action at 69-73 mph, pounds the strike zone and attacks hitters well, sink on fastball generates ground ball outs, allowed no hits and struck out one in two innings of work, one of the top arms left on the board in 2015 class.

2/16/14 - 6-foot-2, 173-pound prospect with lanky build and good projectability, good rhythm and tempo in delivery, repeats delivery well, uses long and loose arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, fastball showed hard/late sink at 83-84 mph (3-5 mph increase since August 2013), showed good command of 72-74 mph breaking ball that has sharp/late break, good arm action on 76-78 mph changeup with some fade.  Ethington has showed a big recent jump in velocity and would not be surprised to see more in the near future, potential high-level prospect.

8/25/13 - 6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect, lanky and projectable frame, uses long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, repeats delivery well, easy effort in delivery, fastball showed slight increase in velocity over winter event at 78-80 with good arm-side run, likes to attack right-handed hitters with two-seamer on hands, curveball shows sharp 11/5 action at 69-73 mph, expect to see continued velocity gains from Ethington.

2/18/13 - 6-foot-1, 157-pound prospect with lanky build, projectable frame with room to fill out.  On the mound, he did not light up the radar gun as his fastball sat 77-78 mph with arm side run and sink, but the ball comes out clean and easy and we expect him to see significant velocity gains as he continues to develop physically.  He showed good feel for his curveball that sat 66-68 mph with good depth and 12/6 action.  He also showed good feel for his 69-71 mph changeup with arm side run and throws it with good arm action.  Ethington showed he has the potential to be a high level class of 2015 pitching prospect.  As position player, long arm action from the outfield, clean exchange, shows some arm strength at 80 mph.  At the plate, starts out at the plate in a narrow stance slightly crouched with an open front side.  He uses a slight leg lift trigger with hands at shoulder level, bat wrapped,  front foot lands open causing his front side to open early and a loss of lower half torque, hands drop below shoulder level and arm bars causing extension to happen behind the plate and bat to drag through the zone, swing will improve with added physical strength.
