Fox

6/18/14 - Fox is a strong, athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed pitcher.  He showed an athletic, natural delivery with body control and throws with clean three-quarters arm action – getting out-in-front with ease with all of his pitches.  His fastball was clocked mostly in the 80-82 mph range and he showed a late-breaking 11/5 slurve.  Fox also flashed a 71-72 sinking change-up with fastball arm speed.  In the game he struck out two batters in one inning of work and threw a very high percentage of strikes – more than any pitcher at the event.  He has a very simple approach to pitching – attack the zone, let the chips fall where they may.

6/18/14 - Fox is an athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-hand hitting infielder with strength.  During infield drills he showed quick hands and feet and made all accurate throws from a three-quarters slot.  He has quick, clean arm action.  His top throw registered at 80 mph.  At the plate he has a tall, athletic set-up and slightly open stance.  Fox has a fluid hand load and a short inline stride.  His hands are strong and he took one of the more impressive rounds of batting practice on the day – peppering the middle of the field with line drives.  He ran a 4.38 home-to-1B from the right side.  Fox is one of the top prospects in Kansas and does a lot things well on the baseball field.  In the games Fox reached base once and stole a base.

1/4/14 - Fox is a very athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-hander with a rhythmic delivery and ¾ arm slot.  He works uphill but his arm works so well he gets to an out in front release point with ease.  His fastball velocity was clocked at 80-81 mph.  He also threw a sharp 71-72 curveball and has feel for a 72-74 change-up.  He threw strikes with all three pitches at a rate as high as anyone at this event.

1/4/14 - Fox is an athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-hand hitting infielder.  From shortstop he showed average hands, quick footwork and clean exchanges showing a quick arm throwing from a ¾ arm slot.  His top throwing velocity was clocked at 78 mph.  He hits from tall set-up, slightly open stance and strides slightly closed.  He has a smooth backward hand load and level bat path.  He showed good balance and extension.  His top exit velocity was 80 mph.  Fox is a good athlete that does a lot of things well.
