2014 KABC 1-2A All-State - 1st Team

8/17/14 - Allen is a sturdy-framed 5-foot-11, 190-pound right-handed pitcher.  Starts deliberate and under control.  Turns back at balance point, hides ball, strides slightly across body, three-quarters slot, some effort, slight arm recoil.  Fastball velocity in the 82-85 mph range, arm side run.  Slurve type breaking ball stood out, late action, shape, high percentage of strikes.  Change-up 68-69.  Somewhat raw but works up to 85 mph with his fastball already and has a breaking ball that is a potential plus pitch going forward.

8/17/14 - Allen is a strong 5-foot-11, 190-pound right-hand hitting third baseman.  Hits from a slight crouch, wide stance, closed, strides closed, backward load, aggressive hack, pull approach with bat speed, short finish, 86 mph exit velocity.  Ran 4.62 home to first base, 7.07 60-yard dash.  At third base fielded everything cleanly, short three-quarters arm action, 75 mph throwing velocity, mostly accurate throws.
