5/31/16 - Wendling is a 5-foot-8 165-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2018 class.  He ran a 6.81 60, one of the top for the event, and has an exit velo of 86 mph, one of the top for the event. At the plate, balanced stance, hands work inside ball, opposite field approach, feel for the barrel, quick bat path, singled to right during game action.. Behind the plate, pop times between 1.99 and 2.06, one of the top pop times for the event,  75 mph positional velo, mostly accurate throws to the bag, quick catch and throw with quick feet and hands.

4/28/15 - Uncommitted class of 2018 catcher. 5-foot-10, 155-pound slender-framed catcher with lots of room to expand as he matures. Shows good basic backstop fundamentals, with a good glove and a quick agile feet. Good catch and release ability already and accurate throws, with pop times between innings 2.17 and 2.21. Lead off hitter, collected two hits against the Saints, including a game lead-off double.
