8/8/17 - Steele is a 6-foot-5 254-pound right-handed hitting first baseman and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 7.21 60 and a 4.76 home to first.  He has an exit velocity of 102 mph. At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth load against back side, no wasted hand movement, gap to gap approach, power to all fields, quick and aggressive bat speed.  On the infield, 80 mph positional velo, smooth actions the ball, loose high three quarters arm slot, quick catch and throws, plays through the catch, mostly accurate.  Drove ball deep to right center in game action. On the mound, Steele has a large frame, athletic delivery, slight rotation at top of release point, hides ball well, comes out of ear, downhill, in line stride, throws with some effort, fastball worked mostly 80-83 mph, some with late run, breaking ball has late break, 11-to-5 shape, 71-74 mph, settled in later in inning with high percentage of strikes.

6/14/16 - Steele is a 6-foot-4 215-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class.  Steele is a strong and big bodied pitcher with potential to a power arm, he has a high three quarters release, throws with some effort, aggressive down the mound, fastball ranged from 75-77 mph, breaking ball at 69-71 mph, 10-to-4 shape, curveball is still work in progress but shows signs of being a good pitch as he develops, change up at 73 mph, near fastball arm speed, some fade.
