8/5/15 - McCarl is a 5-foot-10 165-pound left-handed hitting catcher. 6/18/14 - McCarl is an athletic-framed 5-foot-9, 155-pound left-hand hitting outfielder.  During defensive evaluations in the outfield he fielded everything cleanly and threw with long three-quarters arm action.  His top throw was clocked at 79 mph.  At the plate he has an athletic set-up and inline stance.  He uses a reverse toe tap, followed by a mini-leg kick stride and has no hand load.  McCarl maintains balance throughout and has a simple swing with rhythm and flow to it.  He has a middle-oppo approach.  His exit velocity high was 81 mph.  He ran a 4.63 home-to-1B from the left side.
