4/12/13 - This was our first time seeing the unsigned McNorton, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound absolute physical specimen who put up big offensive numbers as a junior earning 5A All-State honors after ranking among the Centennial League leaders in several categories. League coaches, to a man, mentioned his powerful bat as we polled them during the preseason. In Saturday’s game at Kauffman Stadium he showed a compact swing with bat speed as well as a good feel for the strike zone – driving a ball to centerfield and collecting a walk on the day.
