7/9/14 - We’ve had the opportunity to see East play a handful of times this spring/summer and it seems like every game we go to Charley White quietly collects two hits. Not surprising to our staff, despite being surrounded by a strong senior class and talented 2016 prospect Wentz, the class of 2015 left-hand hitting White finished second on East in hitting this spring with a .382 batting average. Everything the 6-foot, 160-pound middle infielder does on the baseball field is fluid and easy – fielding ground balls, running or hitting a line drive into left-center with his simple swing. He plays the game with composure and is very consistent. We’ve timed White as low as 4.22 running home-to-1B from the left side. Like Sanborn, White has a ways to go before filling out his thin, athletic frame.

Comments
4/10/14 - Left-hand hitting middle infield prospects are a highly sought after commodity and East has two of them in juniors Sanborn and Charley White. White has a wide-shouldered, athletic frame built to add weight to. During pre-game infield he showed quick hands and feet. At the plate, he demonstrated strength and bat speed in his game at bats. Further evidence of his overall athleticism, White was also named an All-Sunflower League defensive back for East’s 11-2 football team this past fall.
