8/17/14 - Schaffer is a 6-foot-4, 175-pound left-handed pitcher.  Deliberate early, tall balance, drops shoulders during stride, strides inline, three-quarters arm slot, easy arm, hides ball, athletic finish.  Balanced, efficient delivery.  Fastball had sink and occasional cutting action, high percentage of strikes, 78-81 mph.  Short slurve type breaking ball, 70-71 mph.  Change-up 73-75.  Tall, projectable class of 2015 lefty.

8/17/14 - Schaffer is a 6-foot-4, 175-pound left-hand hitting outfielder.  During batting practice showed a tall set-up, closed stance, strides closed, minimal hand load, short bat path, generates leverage, explosive lower half, delivers barrel out front, middle of the field approach, 83 mph exit velocity.  4.62 home for first base, 7.20 60-yard dash.  In the outfield made clean exchanges, loose high three-quarters arm action, 85 mph throwing velocity, throws have carry to them.  Projectable left-hand hitter with plenty of room to fill out.
