2/17/14 - Mason is an athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-hander that throws from a ¾ arm slot with some effort.  His delivery is very simple and repeatable.  It starts off slow and controlled and becomes explosive late.  His fastball ranged from 85-88 mph, a jump up from the fall when we saw him.  His fastball has hard sinking action at times and he threw a good number of strikes with it.  He also flashed a hard, late breaking slurve at 73-76 and 74-77 change-up with similar sink to his fastball.
2/17/14 - Mason is an athletic 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-hand hitting infielder.  At the plate he has a balanced set-up and inline stance, he has a simple, smooth hand load and mini-leg kick as he strides in place.  He has an easy swing but delivers the barrel on a level plane with bat speed working the gaps well.  He showed balance throughout his swing.  He recorded an exit velocity of 89 mph and ran a 4.31 home to 1B from the right side.  In the infield he is very fundamentally sound showing soft hands, quick feet and clean exchanges.  His infield throws were mostly accurate with a throwing velocity high of 82 mph with quick ¾ arm action.
10/19/13 - Mason impressed all in attendance in his one inning of work.  He challenged hitters with a firm low-to-mid-80’s fastball and, at times, power slurve.  The 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-hander pitches from a high ¾ slot, tall delivery and has a quick arm.  His simple delivery with limited moving parts is built to deliver strike after strike.  Mason’s breaking ball was clocked at 72 mph and change 78.  His “right-now” pitch-ability grades out as high as anyone in the camp.
10/19/13 - The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Mason is an athletic right-hand hitting infielder.  He hits from an athletic, balanced set-up and uses a slight leg kick.  He is short to the ball with bat speed and finishes with extension.  He registered an 87 mph exit velocity.  On the infield he showed soft hands and fluid footwork.  He has some effort to his throws and a top throwing velocity of 78.  His home to 1B time was 4.51.  Mason is a very solid player and 2-way prospect.
